A Home in Colorado – A Record-Breaking State for Skiing

It’s no secret that Colorado is a major draw for avid skiers and snowboarders. In fact as of 2015, “Colorado’s ski industry generates a $4.8 billion annual economic impact…supporting over 46,000 year-round equivalent jobs.” With those kinds of numbers, it’s easy to see why we are passionate about creating dream homes in this gorgeous state for people to live and play in.

In fact, Colorado offers many perks for those who live here – easy access to the great outdoors, nature trails, hiking, biking, restaurants, breweries, a thriving economy, and views of the incredible Rocky Mountains. Not only has our state been voted the best place for veterans to live in 2019 AND one of the nation’s top five places to find a job, this month Colorado broke another record of a different kind–skiing on the 4th of July!

Travelers from all over the country came to take advantage of the extended ski and snowboard season, riding at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and celebrating July 4th all at the same time. Many wearing red, white, and blue, people came from far and wide to celebrate the holiday in an unexpected way, sometimes waiting up to 45 minutes just to get on the lift.

This year A-Basin’s ski season ran for, “a whopping 260 days of skiing and riding.” The last time people were able to ski in Colorado for the 4th of July was back in 2011. Safe to say it doesn’t happen very often!

Building your home in Colorado means you are just a quick car ride away from hiking or biking in the summer and skiing or snowboarding in the winter. And let’s face it – winter is already on the way again.
